Stories and photos from trips that stuck with me.

First U.S. Home
The first place I landed in the U.S. — Half Moon Bay camping trips with friends, more Golden Gate Bridge visits than I can count, and my wife's home base in San Jose nearby.

May 2024
A hundred dolphins off the Nāpali Coast, snorkeling at Anini Beach, and the quietest, most beautiful island in Hawaii.

May 2024
Shallow-water snorkeling at Shark Cove, turtles on nearly every beach, and a Waikiki home base on Hawaii's busiest island.

May 2024
The Road to Hana's waterfalls, black sand beaches, and cliff jumps, followed by the best coral reef I've ever seen at Molokini Crater.

Summer Getaway
A slow drive up the Door County peninsula — a century-old lighthouse, cherry blossoms and apple orchards, homemade blueberry jam, and a detour through the Wisconsin Dells.
Second Home
My wife went to school here, so Chicago has become something like a second home — best explored one restaurant at a time.

Southwest Road Trip
Seen it in movies for years — standing at the edge in person was a different kind of beautiful, and a different kind of terrifying.

Southwest Road Trip
Lower Antelope Canyon in person, after years of knowing it only as a computer wallpaper — steep stairs down into light and stone that barely looks real.
2015 – Present
A city built out of the desert that I've watched grow for over a decade — 30-plus visits, every hotel on the Strip, and a David Copperfield autograph to show for it.
Florida Keys Road Trip
Growing up in India, a beach trip meant a five- to six-hour drive — so the drive from Miami down to Key West never felt long at all.
Florida Keys Road Trip
South Beach's Ocean Drive, a bike ride along the sand, a Little Havana food tour, and watching massive ships glide past from the shore.
December 2015 – Present
From a $30 Greyhound bus ride as a broke student in 2015 to returning with my wife, and eventually both our mothers, at Universal Orlando.
Multiple Visits
Two of Disney World's four parks, visited at different points in life — Avatar Flight of Passage and the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom, TRON Lightcycle and the castle fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

Southwest Road Trip
The drive out from Las Vegas was as memorable as the canyon itself — desert, one old-style gas station, and a glass Skywalk over the edge.

Multiple Visits
Wading through the Virgin River on The Narrows, driving the Zion–Mount Carmel Tunnel, and a park that somehow feels different every time.

Day Trip from Las Vegas
The lowest point in the country, blinding white salt flats, and a landscape photographers could spend days on.
